Introduction
Yoshi Touch and Go is all about keeping Baby Mario safe as he falls through the sky and riding on Yoshi's back by drawing clouds as a path, throwing eggs, and killing enemies by turning them into bubbles.
Graphics
The graphics have the Yoshi's Island kind of makeover with a crayon kind of effect with everything and looks really pretty and colourful. Baby Mario and Yoshi look really good and the enemies are detailed and there's a good deal of variation, some enemies you'll know and some you won't know.
Sound
The sound is nice and clear, plus the music is happy and upbeat which suits the area you're in. The sound effects are great from Mario's wailing as he plummets to his doom to Yoshi's cute little noises he makes as he jumps and farts eggs out of his butt.
Gameplay
The idea is to first get Baby Mario down to the ground safely as he drifts down tied to 3 balloons and you have to guide him down a path of coins by drawing clouds that he slides along, picking coins along the way earning you points depending on its value. You can also destroy flying enemies by circling an enemy turning it will turn into a balloon filled with coins according to the value of the enemy that you can drag to Baby Mario to gain even more points.
When you get down to the bottom, depending on how many points you collected, you get a different Yoshi and the more coins you get, the more eggs you can hold which is really useful when you're over 3000m. When you're on land, Baby Mario is riding on Yoshi and you've got to protect yourself by throwing eggs and stuff and you keep on going till you die which can get a bit boring after a few games.
There are four different modes in which you have to do certain things, you only at first get 2 modes and it takes some time to learn the game at first. The modes are Time Attack, Marathon, Challenge and Score Attack. They're a bit samey in some aspects of how you play so not much life in the game
And the most Rubbish unlockable in a game is…
Yoshi Touch and Go for its pathetic balloon game where you POP BALLOONS, THAT'S IT. There's no cool end sequence, that would have been fine, but this?! This is worse than completing a game with no unlockable at all.
Downsides
The downside to this game is that the gameplay can go stale, it's hard to learn at first, the music might get on your nerves and the end unlockable is useless.
Overall
This game is colourful, is quite unique and easy to play and always fun and challenging after a bit of practice when first bought so if you're a Yoshi fan and like to top your scores, then you should pick up this little gem.
