This is a game to get,despite you playing all the old classics and thinking those days are over, well... let's just say you have another thing coming. New Levels, New enemies, and splinter cell is in it(just kidding about the splinter cell part). Dont think the Big N was trying to cash in on past success here either. New Super Mario Bros is refreshed and ready to go with amazing graphics and fun gameplay, you'll play it over and over, until you figure out how to unlock Luigi that is. Who could think a 2D platformer would do so well. It's really amazing to see such a thing, and it's done with such.. with such passion Mario getting all Big on you it's unbelievable.
As soon as you pop this into your DS, hit the block in the first stage and he really get's super on you, you'll really appreciate how it feels to be invincible, for a while that is.Then you have to shrink back down to normal size and face the facts,yes you'll have to start jumping on those heads again
 
Gameplay
What can i say Gameplay is amazing it was done to perfection seasoned up and all. I'd have to give gameplay a 9 out of 10 rating.Reasoning's being that some levels were a tid bit too short, yes i beat the first level with my eyes closed (literally), while others were a tad bit too long there was only quite a few levels that gave trouble but you eventually get the hang of things and beat it. There was only about 1 or 2 levels where you actually had to use your Cranium to past, one of them being the final level. Dont want to spoil the fun so i'll let you see it for yourself. There's really no storyline to this other than the Princess being kidnapped and your the one who has to go out and rescue her(Like always except for The Game Princess Peach Of Course) . There's a few new additions such as the small mushroom the blue shell and the sliding down off walls which comes in handy and of course bouncing off the walls to reach new hights i totally digged that.
Graphics
The graphics got redone and it was delivered right out of the box, what can i say it's not the best graphics you'll see as it's from Nintendo but gameplay covers for all of that as they say over at Nintendo "Gameplay over Graphics" which i agree with totally. Not much to cover on graphics.
Sounds
To me the sound really got annoying after a while, i think children in the age group from 6-10 will enjoy the from this a bit more The sound's for me.. well it just didnt cut it. I eventually had to turn off the sound, because if i heard it any longer i'd have to throw the DS into the wall and i didnt want that did i... guess i didnt. Not much to cover in the sounds section either apart from a few lovely sounds nothing too amusing.
Overall
I'd recommend this game to everyone, you'll enjoy this alot even if your not a hardcore gamer good game to play while your on the train or in an Aircraft it really takes your mind off things so what are you waiting for go out and get it as you wont regret it.
